 Built 120 years ago, the world's
first steel suspension bridge remains an appealing
attraction. It will be hard to find a more
breathtaking view of the skyline, of boats
gliding across the East River or the Statue
of Liberty in the distant harbor. You will
find historic markers and detailed information
about the bridge as well as great photo opportunities
while walking midway across the bridge. Go
for a walk along the waterfront on the Brooklyn
side of the bridge at the Fulton Ferry Landing,

 Battery Park
A temporary memorial can be visited in Battery
Park. The memorial consists of what remains
of Fritz Koenig's 5,000-pound bronze sculpture
"The Sphere," which formally stood in the
fountain of the trade center plaza.
